NICE Clinical Guidelines Programme

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) is going to develop a clinical guideline on the recognition and diagnosis of adults with coeliac disease.

This is the result of two years of hard work and multiple submissions from Coeliac UK, and is also a key target realised for the Charity, and will undoubtedly result in earlier diagnosis for many people with the condition in the future.  It will also enable us to measure performance against nationally accepted guidelines.  While the details are still to be worked out, this is a major breakthrough in our campaign to improve diagnosis rates.
