Awareness Week in Parliament

WestministerTo raise awareness among politicians we are holding a Parliamentary Reception on 15th May on The Terrace of the House of Commons sponsored by Gordon Banks MP, Secretary of the All Part Group on Coeliac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis. All MPs and Peers will be invited to attend. Last year's reception was very well regarded by Parliamentarians. On behalf of the All Party Group Gordon Banks will also be inviting a Health Minister to attend. We hope that the Commons and Lords caterers will also display information on coeliac disease in all the Palace of Westminster restaurants as they did last year.
We will again be inviting retailers to exhibit at the reception and we have invited Adastra Medical, the company distributing the Biocard self-testing kits which go on sale in Boots in May, to test Parliamentarians who come to the reception.
On Wednesday 16th May (traditionally Parliament's best attended day) we will also be holding an exhibition in the foyer of Portcullis House which houses many of the MPs offices and meeting rooms.
To coincide with our Parliamentary events we will be tabling another Early Day Motion to draw attention to our activities and to help to raise awareness. Last year's EDM was signed by 144 MPs and a motion tabled earlier this year specifically on the prescriptions issue was signed by 124 MPs at the time of going to press.
