Insurance services update

Coeliac UK have recently teamed up with Unique Insurance Services, part of the Heath Lambert Group, which provides insurance for people with pre-diagnosed medical conditions including coeliac disease.   In a past issue of Crossed Grain (Autumn 2005) and on our website, we issued some very general Q&A's regarding insurance where, based on expert advice we were given at the time, we stated that you need not necessarily declare you have coeliac disease when taking out insurance.  However, as of now, Unique Insurance Services, in common with many other insurance companies, require any person with a pre-diagnosed medical condition to declare this and they will ask customers when they first take their details or apply for insurance on-line.
